Ballantyne Breakfast Club May 10
The next meeting of the Ballantyne Breakfast Club community infromation forum will be on Saturday, May 10th at Ballantyne Resort in the Fairway Ballroom. This meeting will focus on "HEATH, WELLNESS & RECREATION" and will feature a wide range of presenters. Among those presenting information will be the YMCA, Blakeney Racquet Club, Ballantyne Spa, Earth Fare, Dana Rader Golf School, Dr.Paul Drago from Genesis ENT, Peak Fitness, Charlotte Parks & Recreation, Senior Helpers, US National Whitewater Center, Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library, Monkey Joe's and many others.
The meeting will start shortly before 9am so please arrive early to socialize and have some coffee.
We encourage you to invite your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to attend. Remember all meetings are free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Front Entrance Update
UPDATE: Work is slated to begin the week of April 28th!
As you may recall, the drought had pretty well clobbered our front entrance, and what wasn't dead had become very overgrown. Starting last fall we had all the dead/overgrown stuff removed, and the stone wall disassembled. We weren't going to plunge into replanting right away until we could see what the drought situation was looking like, so we left the entry areas in the rather unattractive state they are in now. To have replanted immediately could have been a costly mistake.
It looks like the drought has eased a bit, so our landscaper has put us on his schedule to begin restoring the entrance. They will but putting in gardenia, mugo pines, some loropetalum, as well as an assortment of annuals that will be periodically replaced. They will also be rebuilding the stone walls around both monuments.
