Family Finds Arrow Lodged in Window
Nobody injured; Arrow may have been launched from outside of neighborhood
by OrchidHill.org
An Orchid Hill family got quite a shock when waking up their two-year-old daughter yesterday morning.
An arrow was stuck in the window of their daughter's room, having penetrated the screen and one pane of glass.
The arrow is described as being two to three feet long, and had a carbon metal tip. A report has been filed and police took the arrow as evidence.
"This is scary," says Neighborhood Watch Block Captain Kelly Leahy. "We have so many young children around who, even tucked safely in bed, may be in harms way."
It is unclear whether the arrow came from within the neighborhood. The bedroom window faces south, and the investigating police officer said the arrow could have easily been launched from as far away as Endhaven Lane or perhaps Rougemont.
Neighborhood Watch captains in Rougemont have been notified to be on the lookout for anyone who may be using bows and arrows.
Anyone who might have any information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact their Neighborhood Watch block captain.
